Bob Laroux whips the field alone!!
Anglers Quest Toledo Saturday Series #5

Bob Laroux holds up three of his five-bass winning limit. He fished alone in this team event to take the win.

Anglers Quest 2008 Toledo Saturday Series # 5 out of Alpine Marina in Hemphill, TX began this event with 26 teamed anglers showing up to fish for the $1295.00 purse. The event began at safe light, which was 5:55 am after the playing of the National Anthem. Weigh in was conducted at 3:15 pm. Toledo Bend water was in good shape and about normal pool level with water temps running 70-73 degrees. The weather at takeoff was cloudy at 62 degrees with a warming to 80 degrees by weigh in time. The fish catching was fair on the Bend today as there were 5 limits brought to the scales, for a total of 45 bass at 108.45 lbs making the average bass brought to the scales today weigh 2.41 lb.

The one man team of Bob Laroux from Zwolle, La ran his bass rig to the north end to catch his keeper bass flippin' Texas rigged plastics & C-rigs in 6-12 ft of water around hydrilla & stumps. Bob culled down to his best 5 bass at 18.60 lbs to finish in 1st place to allow him to collect $750.00 for his day on the water.

Jim & Kurt Moroski won 2nd place weighing in 12.77 lbs
The team of Jim Moroski from Hemphill & Kurt Moroski from Plano, Tx ran their RayCraft/ Evinrude bass rig to south creek areas to fish 4-8 ft water around hydrilla to finish in 2nd with their best 5 bass that tipped the scales at 12.77 lbs. There was no report on how they caught their sack of bass. Jim & Kurt's day on the water paid back $415.00 for their efforts.

The team of Michael Kelley from Many, La & Steven Burkett from Farmersville, La ran their Triton/Mercury bass rig to north lake areas to catch the Big Bass of the event, a fine 5.66 lb'r throwing small cranks in 4 ft water around grass.

Anglers Quest will be back at Alpine Marina on Toledo Bend on Saturday, June 21st for the 6th of 9 Toledo Saturday Series events. Next Sunday May 25th Anglers Quest will be at Mill Creek Park on Sam Rayburn for the 5th of 7 Super Team Series events. On Saturday June 7th Anglers Quest will be at Mill Creek Park on Sam Rayburn for the 6th of 9 Sam Rayburn Saturday Series events and on June 14th we will be on Lake Livingston out of Kickapoo Bait & Tackle with the 7th of 9 Livingston Saturday Series events.

The Toledo Bend Saturday Series after all 9 events will provide the Team Anglers of the Year with free entries to all 2009 Toledo Saturday Series events.
