Crappie for Cash Tournament

The Sabine River Authority is proud to be hosting the second annual "Crappie for Cash" tournament on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Cypress Bend Park Pavilion. Over $4,000.00 guaranteed in payout plus 100% payback of all entry fees! The Sabine River Authority is hosting this non-profit tournament for economic development. The entry fee is $100 per team. A team may consist of either one or two people. Teams may start fishing (line in the water) anywhere on Toledo Bend Reservoir at 7:00 a.m. and continue fishing until 2:00 p.m. Anglers must be in weigh-in line to be eligible for prizes. No team will be allowed to join the weigh-in line after 3:00 p.m. Teams may use rod and reel combos, hand held pole and reel combos or hand held poles. There is a two pole limit per person. Live or artificial bait may be used. Crappie must be hooked and landed with a rod or pole by team members. Crappie must be hooked through the lip or in the mouth. Teams must comply with all state fishing and boating regulations including the use of P.F.D.'s and kill switches. Fishing and boating licenses are the responsibility of team members. Crappie must be weighed at the official Crappie for Cash weigh-in site located at Cypress Bend Park. A team cannot weigh in more than ten (10) crappie. All crappie presented for weigh in must be a minimum of 10 inches in length. Any team presenting more than 10 crappie or a crappie under 10 inches in length will be disqualified. Only one big fish entry per team. Team must designate big fish entry at time of weigh-in. The big fish pot will be paid as follows: 1st - $400.00, 2nd - $200.00, and 3rd $100.00. All contestants are subject to polygraph testing. Since this is a family oriented tournament no alcoholic beverages are allowed during tournament hours or until all polygraphs have been completed. No guides are allowed to compete in the Crappie for Cash tournament. Employees of Sabine River Authority are not allowed to compete in the Crappie for Cash tournament. There will be a Mandatory rules meeting held on Friday March 21st at Cypress Bend Park Pavilion at 7:00 pm. You must attend this meeting to receive your team number to be eligible to fish in the tournament. Entries may be dropped off or mailed to Crappie for Cash c/o Sabine River Authority 15091 Texas Hwy. Many, LA 71449. Mail in entries must be received before close of business on Thursday, March 20th, 2008 to be eligible to fish the tournament.
