Anglers Quest Super Team # 1
Anglers Quest Super Team Series 2008 Lake Sam Rayburn-Brookeland, Tx Mill Creek Park January 27-2008 Anglers Quest 2008 Super Team Series # 1 blasted off after the playing of the national anthem at 7:00 am on Sam Rayburn with 82 teamed anglers showing up to go for the all cash purse of $7960.00. This Series will provide the "Team Anglers of the Year" with free entries to all 2009 Super Team Series events. The Super Team Series Championship will be a 2 day event held on Sam Rayburn for the Top 25 in points or any team entering all 7 events on September 6-7, 2008, this will be a no entry fee championship with $5000 guaranteed going to the winner. Top 5 and the Championship winning team from this Series will advance to the "Tournament of Champions" which will be held on Choke Canyon Reservoir on November 8-9, 2008 and will have a maximum of 38 teams from all Anglers Quest series go to a very exciting GUARANTEED $15,000.00 to the winner Championship. All Anglers Quest Championships include Calcutta auctions which builds the Championship purse to some very nice $$ to compete for.
Albert Collins from Nacogdoches & Bobby LeBert from Brookeland, Tx run Bobby's Skeeter/Yamaha bass rig to mid and south lake areas to cull to their limit of 5 bass casting rattle traps and Tx rigged plastics to 6-8 ft deep grass edges and ended up with 23.33 lbs to finish in 1st place and collect the A/Q "Goal Posts" and $3600.00. Albert hung a fish of a lifetime for most anglers, a huge bass, a 12.33 lb monster bass to anchor their bag for the win. Chris McCall from Jasper & Pete Shivers from Kirbyville, Tx run Pete's bass rig to mid lake grass beds to catch their limit of 5 bass flippin' Texas rigged plastic baits to 8 ft deep grass edges and ended up with 19.94 lbs to finish in 2nd place and collect $1350.00.
David Ortiz from Baytown & Keith Matthews from Crosby, Tx run David's Triton/Evinrude bass rig to numerous areas north on the lake to catch their best 5 bass to bring to the scales to capture 4th place and $550.00 throwing c-rigs & rattle traps in the grass. Mark Rouse from LaPorte & Randy Quin from Huffman, Tx powered Mark's Triton/Mercury bass rig to nearby mill creek areas with grass to catch their best 5 bass of 18.19 lbs throwing traps to garner 5th place and $400.00 for their day on the water. Larry Cotten from Huffman & Clint May from LaPorte finished their day with their limit of 5 bass at 17.72 lbs and collected 6th place and $300.00. Jason Woods & Corey Rambo from Orange, Tx finished in 7th place with 17.57 lbs and collected $265.00.
